Brilliant Result for the Boys at the Worcestershire Junior Championship Monday 26 September 2016
A rainy Saturday 10th September saw archers from across the county and other West Midlands affiliated counties converge on Redhill Archers, Wythall, for the West Midlands and County of Worcestershire Open Junior Championship.
Three Evesham Junior Archery Club members took on stiff competition across a variety of age groups and distances.
Starting with our youngest competitor, Rohan Hewitt, was looking for a third Junior Bowmen score to secure JB Classification status. By the end of a very wet 12 dozen arrows in the Bristol 4, he had amassed a total of 965, beating Junior Master Bowman by 6 points. His score was enough to see Rohan take the Bristol 4 County Champion’s title in the boy’s recurve. Rohan also finished second in the West Midlands Bristol 2 for boys category.
Mark Davies took on the rest of the field in the Bristol 2 recurve. The constant rain did not deter Mark from compiling an impressive 1068 points, which saw him take second place in both the West Midlands and County sections.
Finally, Jamie Harris, shooting for Stratford, but also an Evesham member, continued his fine form by winning the West Midlands Bristol 1 Boys Compound title with a score of 1226 points.
Well done to all 3 archers on achieving excellent results!
EAC also did extremely well in the post shoot raffle bringing an armful of delights home with them.
